So here's another pebble variation: Escargot!
I'll freely admit it to anyone: I LOVE sushi! My favorite thing in the world is to go to a good sushi house and get a yummy eel roll and some shrimp tempora.
Inspiration: The local sushi resturant serves rolls with very funny names like Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Roll and Bulldog Roll.
This free motion design really reminded me of the fish roe sometimes added to the top of nice rolls.
Difficulty Level: Intermediate. There's still a lot of traveling and thread play in Escargot. Just practice staying right on top of your quilting lines and you'll do just fine!
Directional Texture: All Directions. This design, much like Pebbling and Double Pebble, really looks good in the background of any quilt. The little swirl through the center of each circle allows you to make the circles bigger and therefore cover more area faster.
Suggestions for Use: All of the circular fillers may be time consuming, but they work really well in tight areas. This would be a good choice to place around elaborate applique or in the background of complicated quilting motifs.
