To say it's a little late is a bit of a stretch! I've been meaning to shoot this since I started the project way back in August. Oh well, better late than never!
This video details what I'm doing with the 4" practice squares and how you can easily follow along with the blog to create a notebook of filler samples as well.
You also get to check out my new quilting area set up specifically for quilting on camera. I'm hoping the lighting and visibility will be much better now that I'm not in the basement. Check it out:
Here are some links to the things I mention in the videos:
- Sheet protectors and the 2" three ring binders can be purchased at Office Max. I found that the 2" binders hold around 60 designs.
- 4" marking rulers, Sewline Pencils, and Isacord Polyester threads are now available at the Day Style Designs Quilt Shop!
I've just updated the new store with 10 new items including new Free Motion Quilting Feet.
Finding a foot with good visibility for free motion isn't easy, so I've tested several different generic feet to find some that really work.
We now have a Generic Free Motion Foot and The Big Foot in both modified (broken and bent to work better) and unmodified versions.
- I mention Hiding Threads in the video. Make sure to check out this tutorial and learn how to do it if you don't know already!
Work through the 36 designs already available for beginners and then move on to the Beginner/Intermediate designs.
There will be more videos for beginners coming soon!
Let's go Quilt!
