The Physical Book is Ready!

I wasn't expecting this version of the book to be ready for a few more weeks, but I hopped on Amazon.com today and found it listed!  Click here to find the book on Amazon.com!

Here's a silly video of me unwrapping the first proof so you can see what the book looks like:

I'm so happy and relieved that this book is finally available in a physical copy - something I never in my wildest dreams thought would happen!

The process of making all 365 designs, sharing them here online, and now finally compiling them into one big book has been a wonderful experience.  Yes, it's all taken a lot longer than originally expected (3.5 years), but it would never have happened without so many awesome quilters reading, sharing, commenting, and of course USING these designs.

You have all pushed me beyond the original scope of this project.  At the beginning, I never imagined anyone would want a book when all the designs were published for free online, but now with this big book in hand, I can't imagine NOT having this wonderful resource of inspiring designs next to my sewing machine.

Yes, this physical version is a bit expensive, but keep in mind that it's a very expensive book to print.  At 252 full color pages, it eats up quite a lot of paper and toner, but thanks to teaming up with Create Space and Amazon.com, we're able to bring it to you for the lowest possible print cost.

Best of all, you can save on shipping by opting for free Super Saver shipping when ordering from Amazon.com.

Though this new book is not spiral bound, it is big enough to lay flat when opened:

Looking through all the designs in the book, I can't help but think of even more textures to try on the machine.  It's time to go quilt!

  5. Irene - We're not planning to sell this particular book from our site simply because it seems a better deal for you guys to order it from Amazon and get free shipping.

However, if you have issues with Amazon, or simply really want a signed copy, shoot us an email and we'll see what we can do!

    Cheers,

    Leah

  9. Leah, no nothing against Amazon. Will be ordering today. Online is nice but nothing replaces a real book. Love your work and inspiration. Thanks for doing this.

  15. Leah, I was just playing Words With Friends on Face book and an ad for your book was the pop up ad between plays. Though you might like to know! My finances need to recover from my DD's wedding, but i intend to buy the book eventually.

  16. Considering how willingly Leah has shared information with everyone who reads her blog, we should all rush out and purchase this book. She is a young entrepeneur and we should all support her efforts!

  17. Congrats! Just curious, if we have your two other books, will much of this new book be a duplication?

  18. I never have spent so much for a book in my life and I can hardly wait for it to arrive. Our local print shop puts in spiral bindings very reasonably. I will be checking that out. Others might want to do that too. Congrats Leah. It looks beautiful

  19. Thank you all for your wonderful comments and support. Here's a few answers to your burning questions:

Jane - If it's possible to be pregnant for almost 4 years, then yes, it most definitely felt that way! Mostly it's always been a question as to whether this book was even possible, but it feels great to finally have it in a solid physical form.

Ann in NC - If you have my other two books, then approximately 110 designs will be duplicates. That leaves a measly 255 new designs to play with ;-)

I will have to say the experience of flipping through this book is quite different from my other two books. It's much more like a coffee table book where the images stand up on their own. I find it very inspiring to just flip through, whether I'm searching for new designs to quilt or not.

    Cheers,

    Leah

  23. I've followed you since Day One, Leah - I thought you had guts and I loved your determination and skill. I never dreamed where you and this project would go and how famous you would become in 'our world'. Good on YOU! I just ordered the book - I want the big book right next to my longarm all the time. Thanks for the inspiration!

  24. Dear Leah - the DAY I saw this post of your beautiful book, I ordered it via Amazon. It arrived VERY quickly and is more beautiful than I had imagined. Just SEEING the lines is what I wanted. Money isn't everything - sometimes I want to open the book and just LOOK!

I love/need inspiration, and you provided it - thank you so much. In the meantime, I was able to CANCEL 2 other quilting books on order because there weren't enough designs in them. BIG thanks again!
