FMQ Friday Link Up

It's finally Friday and time to share news from the week. Yesterday we pulled down the results of our recent survey and found we had over 975 responses! Josh randomly selected 5 winners and I've shot out emails, so check your email to see if you've won a free copy of 365 Free Motion Quilting Designs!

Just in case you're interested in the survey results, here's a few interesting details:
  • 51% of quilters surveyed have spend between 2 - 5 hours a week quilting. That's anywhere from 17 to 43 minutes a day - no wonder quilters are wanting quicker projects!
  • Most quilters feel pretty comfortable with piecing, and the most popular type of piecing by far is traditional pieced blocks, though modern piecing style with more open space for free motion quilting is gaining in popularity.
  • There's really no consensus on what size or type of quilt we should work on next - bed quilts, throw quilts, and wall hangings were pretty evenly split. I'm greatly comforted by the number of people that said "Whatever you do is fine with me!" lol!
Thanks again for providing such great information in this survey. We're soaking up as much information as we can before jumping into the design of next year's quilt along, or should I say Quilt Alongs because we're probably going to quilt together through more than one project next year!

Now for a list of what we've learned together this week:

- How to quilt an older design, Circuit Board, on multiple scales in a Building Block

- How to make life a bit easier and simpler for ourselves - Bent knees are okay here...

- How to quilt a new design called Growing Sprouts!

So if you've missed any of those posts, definitely check them out today, post comments or questions, and share the videos with your friends.

Now it's your turn - what have you been working on this week?

Simple rules for the FMQ Project Link Up:
