What can we do with funky rotary blades?

I've been blogging for Craftsy every Sunday with a new Leah Day's Quilting Study series! Yesterday I shared a post all about using funky rotary blades like these:

Let's go quilt,

Leah Day

  1. Leah, I have the one on the right, and it's already giving me trouble, probably because I used it on a worn-out mat and had to bear down too hard on it when I cut my fabric. I don't suppose there's any way to sharpen these blades....? Thanks!

    1. I really don't think so Linda. The weird blade edge makes it just about impossible to sharpen. There's definitely downsides to working with them, but the decorative effects could be really cool!

    2. Thanks, Leah! I'll just have to bite the bullet and get another blade. I didn't realize at the time how worn out my mat was.
